Base64 Encoder/Decoder
Encode text to Base64 or decode Base64 back to text, with full UTF-8 support. You can also convert a file to Base64. Everything runs in your browser.
Encode and decode Base64, including UTF-8 text
The Base64 Encoder/Decoder on SavyTools converts text to Base64 and Base64 back to text, in your browser. It handles UTF-8 correctly, so accented letters, symbols and emoji survive the round trip instead of turning into broken characters. You can also pick a file and convert it to a Base64 string.
How to use it
Paste or type text, press Encode to Base64, or paste Base64 and press Decode from Base64. Press Copy result to copy the output, or Clear to start again. To convert a file, choose it below the buttons and its Base64 value will appear in the result box.
Tips
Base64 is an encoding, not encryption: anyone can decode it, so never use it to hide passwords or secrets. If decoding fails, check for spaces, line breaks or characters cut off when copying. Base64 output is about one-third longer than the original data.
Frequently asked questions
Does it support emoji and accented characters? Yes. Encoding uses UTF-8, so emoji and accented letters round-trip correctly.
Is Base64 secure? No. It only changes how data looks, so do not use it for secrets.
Can I convert a file? Yes. Choose a file and the tool shows its Base64 value, which you can copy.
Is my text uploaded? No. Encoding and decoding happen entirely in your browser.
